The Side Menu

The Main method of navigation on our site is by way of the "Side Menu" which stays in a fixed side-to-side position all the time. You can scroll from Top to Bottom to find the Menu selection you wish to go to. These selections have been placed into common selection groups.

At the TOP of this Menu, a Lifsaver Icon, the words Help and an Info Icon, if Clicked will activate THIS page. The Blue arrow pointing down will take you to the Bottom of the Menu.
At the bottom of the Menu, the words  and a Red up to take you back to the Top of this Menu.

At any time to get back to the Main Front Page, you can click the "Menu Flag".

For a description of the "Search Site" function, see Site Search HERE.

For Internet Explorer 5+, you will hear "Sounds" with each Mouse-over of a item.
For Netscape, Opera and others, you will hear NO sounds as the Mouse pointer rolls over the Menu items. Sorry, the only way to correct this is to use Internet Explorer, which this site has been optimized to display the best. Internet Explorer 6 is recommended! You can get it for Free - GO HERE.

As the Mouse pointer passes over each Menu Item, the item changes color to indicate exactly which item you are on. [ See below ]

Bruno Says bruno says Diagram & Graphical Style Menu

Version [1] - Diagram Style
Diagram Style Menu

The first type, a "Diagram Style" Menu is also used as a means of Naviagtion. The Example above represents an entry from our  Sitemap. The layout is similar to an Organizational Chart Layout with Featured Pages and related Title Pages. Each "Box"  is a Clickable Link but also has a  Description box when the mouse pointer is over the box as shown in the example above. The Mouseover description box does NOT work with all Browsers, however the box remains Clickable and a useful navagational tool.

Version [2] - Graphical Style
Diagram Menu 2 Style

The second type a "Graphical Style" Menu is yet another means of Navigating on our site. The example above is a "Clickable Graphic"  from our Grandkids Page, although each individual Name is NOT a "selective link" in the example above.

Textual Menu Link to our Credits

Text Style Menu's are also common on this site as the Example above. (From our Credits Page).  All of these will have descriptive terms, such as the above "Click the Note"  to go to the Menu item.  These have been placed to further explain or make clearer a particular item. As in this actual Menu on the Credits Page, each page music selection is identified with a Clickable Note for easier selection, as some pages do NOT identify the music playing.

Another version of the Text Style Menu is found on our Contents Page, an Indexed alphabetical listing of our site content. Each Menu item is a Clickable Link for that item.

Another variation of Text Links is on Favorite Links page, example Below:

In the Sample above of Text Links that change color as the mouse passes over them as shown here. In this Example, the Menu Item "Links" are working Links, and will, when clicked on, open in the Main Screen Window.

Bruno Says bruno saysPage Descriptor Icons

descriptor 1
Figure [1]

Figure [1] represents the Descriptor at the top of this page.

The Red  Paw indicates a Featured page, one that has a prominent or distinctive aspect, quality, or characteristic. Similar to a special attraction such as the main show at a Movie Theater or Band Concert.

The Green  Paw indicates a Title page, one that has general or descriptive name which usually identifies a part or all of it's content.

The Cyan  Paw indicates an "Off-Site" page, one that is hosted, presented or stored on a site apart from this one. Our Guestbook &  our Greeting Card pages are stored at these sites.

The Yellow  Paw indicates items that are actually "Action" items. They require a movement or a series of movements, such as initiating your Email program, to Contact Us, or Exiting from our site to your own Homepage.

The Blue  Paw OR the "Door" exit door indicates a Closable Window. When clicked, a New window opens for you viewing without changing from the page you were viewing. You can then close this New Window and continue viewing. Items such as these are like this Window. They are usually informational and give guidance.

Bruno Says  bruno saysLink Colors

Various techniques are used within this site to indicate a "LINK"  [Defined as a reference to another document, page or web site]. Links are always recognized by the changing of the Mouse Pointer to the pointer style you designated as a Web Link Pointer for your computer.
On most computers, this is usually a finger pointing up, like this. Link Pointer
You can try it on this Icon yourself to see the effect.

Most of the LINKS within the pages on this site are Underlined Green but will change to a RED color when the mouse pointer passes over them as this ...Hold pointer Here.

Other Links will also have an underline and an overline like this (hold your pointer here) as well as changing color. However, some Browsers will not display the overlines nor the true change in color.

While others will have the Link-block change color as in the Side Menu Highlighted Favorites Item above and by Holding Mouse Pointer HERE.

Picture Links are also numerous on this site. We use several variations, including Mouse-over picture changes where one image will show first, but when the Mouse Pointer passes over the picture, it will change to a different picture as well as being a "Clickable Link".

Most pictures, however, will not be a Link. Your only indication is the actual changing of the mouse pointer. Some pictures may have their Borders change color when the pointer passes over them as well.

Bruno Says bruno saysMouseover Events

Mouseovers

Mouseover events used on this site usually occur when the Mouse Pointer moves over a Graphic or a picture and the Graphic changes to another picture such as the Bruno picture here on the Front Page or the Image-map from Grandma's Page shown below which any part of the graphic or picture is a clickable link. Place mouse pointer over "any item" to see where it will take you.

Grandkids Page New Baby Page Ryan Page Kyle Page Bryanna Page Andrew Page Mikey Page Darren Page Ariana Page Alexis Page Grandma's House

Another example when a self-closing (in most Browsers) window opens up to revel a message such as the Welcome window message (does not self-close on this link shown here) when the mouse pointer is over the Place Mouse pointer on the Welcome Graphic here on the Main Front Page or the Description Box that is used On our Sitemap page shown on the Diagram Style Menu above.

Mousovers are also used to Highlight items without being an actual link or picture change. Try moving your mouse over ALL our graphics!

Bruno Says bruno saysImage-Maps

Graphical Image-Maps

We use a number of these Graphics and Pictures in our site where one can run their mouse pointer over a picture or graphic and the part of that "Mapped Image"  are links to other pictures or pages on our site. The clearest example is Grandma's Den, the interactive graphic as explained above or the Mouseovers as Shown above on the Grandkids Shelf.

Another example if the Image-Mapped picture of 5 generations as shown on our Mother's Page here or the "Blast from the past" shown here. Use of these Image-Maps is an excellent way to explore our site with a direct link to the pictures or pages they contain.
