We've trusted in the reason of our hearts
instead of following the well-worn path
and relying on the tried and true.
We've followed our instincts, knowing that
what's right for everyone else
may not be right for us ...
We've believed in each other
and in the power of love to take us
in the direction of our dreams.
We've done it our way,
and it's been the best way for us.
The years have really flown by
since we fell in love ...
and they've brought us new reasons
to love each other more and more ...
We've been friends, lover's and partners ...
The other has been the stronger
when we needed a shoulder to lean on,
and the other has been tender
when one has needed the other to listen
and understand ...
Even though we don't always remember
to tell each other how much we appreciate them
they are still the only one
who makes our hearts beat faster
and the only one we will ever love.
