Rescue a Shar Pei

Why is it better to adopt a rescue dog that buy a puppy?

  • You are saving a life!
  • Your dog will be forever grateful!
  • Over 90% of pet store puppies come from "puppy mills." Don't take a chance and support that industry ... please adopt instead!
  • Rescue dogs are already neutered/spayed and up to date on shots!
  • Little or no housebreaking is required!
  • They're already done teething!
  • Rescue dogs make great friends!

  • There are several Shar Pei Rescue organizations established to assist and augment the rescue efforts of the Chinese Shar Pei Club of America Inc. (CSPCA), as well as our Canadion neighbors to the North. Some of those wonderful groups are Listed Here - Below

Some of the services provided are:

  • Counseling services to owners inquiring about re-homing their dogs.
  • Temperament assessments of dogs for potential entry into rescue programs.
  • Home checks and applicant screening.
  • Follow up on rescue placements.
  • Screening of applicants for owner surrender dogs that meet certain criteria.
  • Assisting with coordination of transportation of rescue dogs.

  • Need more reasons?

Visit a rescue web site such as one of those listed below and take a look at all the smiling faces who are waiting for someone like you to give them a second chance at life!

Of ALL dogs, the Chinese Shar Pei comes closest to being the perfect dog! They are intelligent, protective, athletic, have sweet dispositions, funny sense-of-humor, make loyal companions and have a high trainability.

Many Rescue organizations consist of experienced Shar Pei owners, Shar Pei Breed lovers, exhibitors and breeders, and most Rescue Organization members are volunteers and no salaries or commissions are ever paid to their members. They operate solely on donations and sponsorships.

Interested in making a difference? Please become a Rescue volunteer!

    Want a dog ... but don't want to make a long-term commitment?
    Why not FOSTER a dog?

All Rescue organizations are looking for volunteers to foster Shar Pei dogs in their homes until permanent homes are found. All veterinary costs are covered by the rescue organization. The only thing you'd need to provide is food and a loving, temporary home for a Shar Pei in need.

To find out about adopting a Shar Pei, making a donation of money or supplies, or volunteering, please contact a Shar Pei Rescue such as one of those listed below. For those who cannot adopt nor foster a Shar Pei in need can assist with the rescue efforts by becoming a Guardian Angel through donations. One may even sponsor a specific Shar Pei in most instances. Just check out those darling faces on the Rescue sites and you will instantly fall in love with all of them. A Chinese Shar Pei becomes contagious on you. Why not help one today. Do it now while it's on your mind and fresh in your memory. It only take a minute or two. Do it now.

Charly says ... Rescue saved me too!!!

I was found as a stray, nearly starved and all skin & bones and put in a Dog Shelter. Rescue found me and took me from a situation that would have surely meant death. Please Adopt a "Rescued"  dog and help not only to save a life but to stop supporting puppy mills. Rescue works!!!
